Time: Night 007, after the Namine/Rayne memories thread
Summary: Rayne makes Alfons an offer he may or may not be able to refuse.
Warnings: You should know these by now.
This was… She didn’t even have to say it was stupid, but then again, all of her ideas had been stupid lately. What was one more? After barricading the bedroom door with everything she possibly could, Rayne had made some excuse to Namine about supplies and promising the girl she’d be back soon, leaving through the other connected bedroom. They did need supplies, and Rayne would make a stop at the kitchen on her way back – Something she supposed would have to be soon. – but for now she just… wanted to stay here.
To any bystander, she supposed she would look like a fool, kneeling on her knees on cold stone floors, arms oddly positioned in front of her, head bent downward, with her blades leaning against the wall next to her. In her mind, however, in her eyes, her head was buried against the bend where neck met shoulder, arms loosely wrapped around a warm and solid feeling waist, legs resting on either side of another person’s lap, heavy chains pooled on the floor underneath both of them. Feeling Angie shift under her, Rayne opened her eyes as the blonde lightly placed her chin on her shoulder, and wrapped her arms around the dhampir’s back, pulling her closer, and Rayne didn’t fight it.
She felt so… drained, as if she could sleep for a millennia and not even dream. The last few days, weeks, months… She wasn’t really sure, and didn’t really care. They had been hell, and she could feel herself cracking, something that not only endangered herself, but Namine as well. If she had some sort of breakdown when it was important, she could never forgive herself if something happened to the girl because of her. Already, she could feel their relationship was slightly strained by Machi’s mention of Rayne being a murderer, even if the blonde girl hadn’t asked or said anything about it. And after Namine found out about Roxas…
Letting out a breath that came out as more of a shuddering sigh, Rayne’s voice was small as she broke the silence. “Will you stay with me?”
”…As long as you need me to, gorgeous.” was the soft and comforting reply.
