Setting: Blue Kitchen
Time: Early Night 8
Summary: Zetsu catches Rayne being crazy. Shadows catch them being social. Hilarity ensues.
Warnings: None, yet. (Unless you’re allergic to teal deer.)
Glancing to her right at the quiet murmur, Rayne quirked an eyebrow at the dark haired Irishman that only she could see, side stepping a piece of furniture that was easily hidden in the dark of the grand room. She had walked this way so many times lately that she was sure she could do it blindfolded if she had to. “What’s weird?”
”You. Takin’ care ofa kid. And bein’ all… teasin’ and shite. S’weird.” Oz answered, giving a shrug. ”Not ta mention, tha other one, that… Alfons bloke. Never though ya’d be with someone so…”
”Extremely gay?” Angie butted in, earning a glare from Rayne. ”What? He is! I think I know a gay man when I see one… Though you’re obviously some sort of exception. I’ll admit, babe, I know you’re hot, but… I never thought you’d be that hot.”
“Shows what you know then, doesn’t it?” The dhampir remarked, unable to stop a small smile from gracing her lips as she thought about the blonde vampire. “I… care a lot for both of them, so please try and not insult them too much?”
”Who was insulting anyone?”
Both Oz and Rayne chuckled at the offhand, and oblivious question. ”So, ya do this every night? Come get food, scurry back up, and just wait.”
“Well… not every night. Sometimes I get to kill things.”
”And sometimes you get to molest gay blonde men in libraries.”
“…Shut up, Angie.” Rayne retorted, grinning as she heard the both of them start laughing. It was odd how natural this felt… She knew they were hallucinations, completely fabricated by her mind as a comfort, but she couldn’t help but ignore it most of the time. She wasn’t going to lie and say she hadn’t missed them. And these… replacements, they…
The question broke her from her thoughts, and Rayne realized with an embarrassed flush that she had been staring at the door to the kitchen for a good moment or two. “Oh… Sorry. I got… Sorry.” She answered, shaking her head as she opened the kitchen door.
