Stay Out Of The Basement [Active/Open]

Characters: Courtney, Jack Skellington
Setting: Mother's Study, then Stone Hallway
Time: Day 003 (just as it stops raining)
Summary: Courtney explores the basement, and meets a familiar face!
Warnings: Spookyness.

Of course she knew that the girl wouldn't be here. That was stupid, right? If this house was teaching her anything, it's that the scary things only came out at night. And yet Courtney was drawn back to the Mother's Study - things had to be different, now. The door was closed last night, after all. That seemed to mean that whatever was building up this house was in here, right?

And she was right - there was a new room, an empty nursery, which in itself kind of gave her the heebie jeebies. And there was more - stairs to a hallway below, to a newly revealed basement area.

She remembered the ghost boy's words in the kitchen, before the burning man appeared - "Stay out of the basement." Something of a vague warning, but Courtney was willing to test her theory. There couldn't be anything harmful down there yet, could there? It was still day time. She could risk it. And although it was risky going all on her lonesome, it wasn't as if she was completely defenseless, right? She was a Crumrin, and where she came from, that meant something.

Grabbing a candle from the Mother's Study and lighting it with a small cantrip, Courtney made her way down the stairs cautiously, finding that the path split in two ways - a hallway going forward, and one on the right that seemed to curve a little. Pausing at the bottom of the stairs (and steeling her courage,) she tried to make up her mind on which way to start exploring.
