"H-hello?" Mion called into an empty hallway, "Is there anybody here?"
She'd been riding her bicycle to the toy shop she worked in, when her front tire popped and sent her flying over the handlebars. The next time she opened her eyes, she was sitting in the entrance of... something that looked nothing like the toy shop.
The girl tried the front door, but found that it would not budge, and a feeling of unease crept over her. Still, she managed to force a laugh; maybe she'd been swept away by Keiichi, and this was some sort of revenge for all the times she'd harassed him during their penalty games. She stepped away from the door and walked deeper into the building, hoping to find some other way out.
Still, that unease lingered, and only continued to grow as she continued through the Grand Entrance, and she nearly tripped over something. Stumbling and glancing down, however, Mion saw nothing, and rolled her shoulders before continuing on. Nice try, Kei-chan, she thought to herself and hurried to the second floor, with no particular destination in mind.
The first hallway she found herself in did nothing to put her mind at ease. In fact, she only felt worse, and all but ran down the corridor, following the staircase up to the second floor. Of course, Mion realized that going up stairs would make finding an exit increasingly difficult, but by that point, all she wanted to do was rid herself of the heaviness settling in her gut.
Mion took slow, deep breathes, and as she continued down the hallway, she began to feel slightly better.
However, such a thing was to be short lived.
The hall was a beautiful pink marble, and smelled of roses. "I guess this isn't so b—"
There was a sudden, loud sound coming from somewhere up ahead; it was as if something was approaching, like footsteps.
"Excuse—" Something shot out at her, and Mion's instincts told her to get out of the way. An arm knocked into her side and sent her colliding into the wall. Of course, now she wasn't sure if she wanted to wait, and find out whatever had hit her.
Instead, she groped around blindly, until her hand touched what felt to be a doorknob, and the girl all but tumbled into the room, slamming the door shut behind her and sliding to the floor.
Panting, all Mion could do was ask herself, "What the hell was that?"
